Black and African Americans (Englishen_US)
Black and African Americans are individuals living in the United States who have origins from Sub-Saharan Africa, as well as many ethnic groups from the Caribbean and South America. Black people account for 12 percent of the US population and constitute the second largest minority , according to the 2010 Census. African Americans have left indelible footprints in fields from science, to government, civil rights, the military, sports, entertainment, and even the culinary scene. This African American collection offers great resources for celebrating Black History Month in February. For posts in WHA, AF, and worldwide, there can be special pride in programs recognizing the contributions of these Americans, past and present.
